Talks & Meditations with Luang Por Viradhammo or Ayya Medhanandi

Two Friday evenings per month, members and friends of the Ottawa Buddhist Society have the opportunity to share in the teachings of the Buddha, often with Ayya Medhanandi or LP Viradhammo. The location is 91A Fourth Avenue in the Glebe, just east of Bank Street.

From January to March 2018 when the monks and nuns near Perth are in silent winter retreat, the OBS invites other dedicated and skilled lay teachers and monks living in the city to share their perspectives on the Buddha dhamma.

The sessions usually begin with a period of guided meditation, followed by a Dhamma talk and period of questions and answers led by the evening’s teacher. There is no requirement to be a Buddhist or a member of the Ottawa Buddhist Society to attend these sessions.

As there are no cushions or mats in the meditation hall, we ask that you bring these items with you. Chairs are provided for those who wish to use them.

There is no fixed charge for attending a Friday Evening Meeting.  Charitable donations are gratefully accepted and go to support the teacher and to support this and similar OBS events.

Please note that the capacity of the Meeting room is 80 persons due to fire restriction. We will not be able to admit extra people once the 80 person capacity is reached. Attendance is on a first come first serve basis and please kindly do not make reservation of seats for others who might come later. The Meeting Room will open at 7:00 pm.
